The District Administration of Jashpur has embarked on a commendable initiative, exemplified by projects such as the Mantha Food Lab and Mahua Center of Excellence. The primary objective is to uplift the tribal community by focusing on Mahua, Local Millets, and Other Minor Forest Products. This collaborative effort involves a dedicated team comprising both scientists and tribals who have diligently merged scientific expertise, nutritional insights, and Ayurvedic principles to craft a range of products that are not only nutritious but also delectable.
At the core of our mission is a profound belief in the inherent nutritional and therapeutic properties of Mahua and Millets. Given their widespread availability in the district and their resilience to pests and weather variations, these natural resources serve as an ideal foundation for developing an extensive array of value-added products. The aim is to empower the millions who rely on these resources for their daily livelihoods.

Since the influx of Tibetan refugees into India in 1959, the Indian government has exhibited exceptional generosity in resettling these communities across various states. One such group of Tibetan refugees, engaged in road construction at Sitapur, found their way to Mainpat, where they were allocated 3000 acres of wild forest land for cultivation and settlement with the consent of the Home Ministry. Mainpat, nestled in the Sarguja District of Chhattisgarh, became the closest Indian village to the Phendeling settlement area for Tibetans.
